Actress revelation of the franchise makes headlines: “For me, Harry Potter was not important”.

Everyone remembers this cinematographic milestone: the year 2001; the first feature film of "Harry Potter” gained worldwide prominence when it premiered in theaters, starting the saga of the young man with glasses and a scar who discovers he is a famous wizard.

The character played by Daniel Radcliffe not only captured the hearts of the public, but also became a pop culture icon, and even after more than 20 years, has become one of the most profitable universes in the history of the entertainment.

However, not everyone who participated in the films praises its importance: one of the actresses in the feature film did not think twice before snubbing him.

"doesn't mean as much to me as it does to them."

Renowned actress Miriam Margolyes, who portrayed Professor Pomona Sprout in “The Chamber of Secrets” (2002) and “Deathly Hallows – Part 2” (2011), she said in a recent interview with Vogue UK that her participation in both films made her known to a whole new generation of spectators. But she said the project "doesn't mean as much to me as it does to them."

“To me, Harry Potter wasn't a big deal,” admitted Margolyes. “I was really happy to get the role and I enjoyed being a part of it, getting to know all the people involved, but it's not comparable to Charles Dickens,” she continued, mentioning the renowned English writer behind such classics as “Oliver Twist,” “A Christmas Carol,” and “Great Hopes”.

Despite this controversial statement, Margolyes was not without thanks for the continued love from fans. “People come up to me and say 'I just love you' and want to hug me. This is incredible,” said Margolyes, recalling a British newspaper calling her a “national charm” on one occasion. “This is quite funny and even ironic. I would love to be considered a national treasure, but I don't know if I really am.”

It is worth mentioning that Margolyes has a curriculum with great and important titles, such as “Reds”, “Mulan” (voicing the matchmaker character) and “The Age of Innocence”. For the latter, directed by Martin Scorsese, she received a BAFTA nomination. She has also starred in world-renowned British series such as “Call the Midwife”.
