A little about the history of Sevi Agregado
Sevi was born in the Philippines and has 3 siblings. At age 2, he was diagnosed with autism, after showing some characteristics of developmental delay, such as speech delay. Parents reported that they did not imagine the reach that the paintings created by their son could have, nor how participation in exhibitions would help in Sevi's development. In interviews, they say they were very happy, mainly because they had no idea what the life of their child with autism would be like.
After the diagnosis, those responsible for Sevi looked for ways to help with his development. At the age of 5 he was enrolled in different activities, such as art therapy, soccer and gymnastics classes. Although he performed very well in all of them, art therapy was the only one he was interested in pursuing. The little artist revealed that his taste for the arts is for fun and the possibility of doing whatever he wants.
Sevi creates her works in art therapy sessions, and usually starts and ends in the same session. This period is extended depending on the complexity of the painting. He usually paints things that are part of his day-to-day interests, such as drawings, animals, movies, series and games, and his painting material is acrylic on canvas.
The financial issues necessary for an artist's career is a point that concerns Sevi's parents, but they are willing to help their child and enjoy what art has to offer for development from him.
