WhatsApp seems to be getting closer and closer to its competitor, Telegram. This is because the Meta group social network is implementing a series of features that already existed in the application Russian, such as the possibility of listening to audio when leaving a chat or using the web version with your cell phone disconnected. Also, developers are working on sending polls in groups.

Why is WhatsApp making this feature available?
According to the company, the main objective is to increase interactions in social network groups and have more tools for your community. In this way, it will be possible to send public polls with up to five response options to chat members. This is a feature already present in other apps, such as Telegram and Instagram, and WhatsApp users have been waiting for this update for years.
By the way, this is not the only feature present on other platforms that was added to the app. Users will also now have the option to react to messages with emojis.
For the curious, creating a poll is already possible in the beta version of the app on iOS, which has been receiving updates and improvements frequently. However, as it is still in the planning phase, it is not possible to create polls or send them to anyone. That's because the development part is still in the visual part, without the concrete backend.
Although it can still only be seen by iPhone users, in a short time it should reach the Beta version of Android devices, which represent the majority of users.
poll security
For many years, the application has been concerned with the security and privacy of users. Because of this, it invested heavily in encoding and encrypting messages. Therefore, it will not be different with polls, since your answers will be completely encrypted, preventing unauthorized people from obtaining the content.
This way, admins and other group members can get closer and interact without worrying about data leakage.
