Last Wednesday (10), the federal government sanctioned a measure that exempts various information technology equipment from import tariffs.
The measure was approved by the Management Committee of the Foreign Trade Chamber (Gecex), a body linked to the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, which is headed by the Vice President of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin.

Among the products included is the 802.11ax standard Wi-Fi 6 router model, which operates in the frequencies of 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Wi-Fi 6E routers, which also operate in the 6 GHz band, were not covered by the measure.
In addition, the list also includes videoconferencing terminals with FullHD resolution, screens for educational use in 4K resolution, digitizing tables for collecting signatures, tablets with a 12-inch screen, SSD drives for business use, printed circuit boards, photovoltaic solar modules and robotic devices for 3D mapping of environments external.

Still according to the Union, the measure will facilitate the importation of the listed products, reducing prices and bureaucracy for those who want to purchase them here in Brazil.
