Adhesion to the “National Commitment to Literate Children” ends on the 31st

Ends on July 31, next to the deadline for states and municipalities that joined the program “National Commitment for Literate Children” deliver to the Ministry of Education (MEC) the diagnosis of your networks. Based on this information, the folder claims that it will be able to know, in greater depth, the actions developed by subnational entities, with a view to guaranteeing children's right to literacy.

Another objective of the government is to ensure that all Brazilian children are literate, by the end of end of the second year of Elementary School, as established by target 5 of the National Education Plan (PNE).

In addition, the federal program also aims to ensure the recomposition of learning, with a focus on literacy, of 100% of children enrolled in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades, taking into account the impact of the pandemic on this audience.

Rather than a single or centralized response for the entire country, the program proposes that each state, in collaboration with municipalities, take responsibility for drawing up their own literacy policy, in accordance with their specificities.

The structuring of the network diagnosis, in turn, will be based on five axes established by the 'Commitment': management and governance; training; physical and pedagogical infrastructure; evaluation system; and recognition of good practices.

Once the diagnosis is concluded, it will be used in the preparation of the State Territory Action Plan (PATe) and the Territory Literacy Policy, so that it is aligned with the needs and specificities of each entity subnational.

To know the 'step by step' for making the diagnosis, those interested should access the website https://simec.mec.gov.br/login.php, login with the CPF and password, or access the gov.br account. Once accessed, the user must click on the “National Commitment to Literate Children” module, fill in the Network Diagnostics, clicking on the question number and checking the desired option for each answer, and so on. After all the answers are answered, the user must click on the “Summary” tabs (to view all questions and completed answers) and, then, “finalize diagnosis”.
