The method is known as Divergent Association Task (DAT), which in Portuguese can be understood as Task of Divergent Dissociation. Its principle is to ask people to make a list of 10 items that differ from each other. In this way, the assessment of the individual's level of creativity is measured from how divergent a word is in relation to the others. This is how scientists get to test creativity.

How does the method work?
For example: when we list the words “cat” and “lamp” we have a much higher level of divergence than those who list “cat” and “dog”. Thus, from the list constructed by the individual, scientists are able to define their level of creativity using an algorithm present in their computer system as a basis.
The system measures the semantic distance of the displayed words and the results obtained in the testing phase generated a confidence interval higher than those already available for measuring creativity.
The test period had more than 8,000 volunteers who responded to the challenge and had their responses processed in the DAT algorithm.

In addition, there are two other tests that were generated before the DAT and that can act as a complement to the method. They are the Alternative Uses Task and the Associative Bridge Task.
tests and explanations
In the first derived method, you should think of as many uses as possible for an object. The Associative Bridge Task, on the other hand, requires you to try to link two words with a third word that is related to the previous ones. These are the two existing measures of creativity that the DAT has as a main competitor and that can be used to increase the efficiency of creativity assessment.
This is because the DAT measures of creativity correlated as well with the other scores as it can. be used alone, which implies that this system is just as useful for assessing creativity as more complex. Take the test and find out if you can list 10 totally different words!
