With that, experts and international press vehicles believe that Windows 12 should be announced soon and released in 2024.
There hasn't been a move yet officialfrom Microsoft about it. However, journalist Zac Bowden, who usually gets information about the company's releases, said that his internal sources have already signaled the new operating system for next year.
Plus, there's the fact that big tech often releases a new Windows every three years.
What's New in Windows 12?
At Microsoft Ignite 2022, an image of what Windows 12 would look like popped up. It's been a while since this screenshot started circulating, but rumors from specialized vehicles strongly believe that this is a prototype of the system.
In terms of design, it is obvious that, in the image, there is a mass of floating tasks, different from the end-to-end bar that we have in Windows 11. You also see a search bar at the top of the screen – it would be a way to integrate the new Bing and its artificial intelligence?
System icons are also in the upper right corner of the screen. And, on the left, you can see the local weather.
According to Zac Bowden's sources, Microsoft is working on a redesign of several elements of the system, mainly the desktop. Also, it is strongly believed that the new Windows must have several features for the use of AI.
Will I need to pay or upgrade my PC?
If you already have an original Windows 10 or 11, with a license, it is very likely that you will have access to the upgrade for free. This is a company practice.
As for the hardware, there is still no concrete information about. However, if your computer does not support Windows 11, it probably won't support 12.
