Smokers, drinkers and carnivores are not welcome in this Chinese company

The job advertisement of an electronics company based in Shenzen, China, caused great repercussions on social networks due to its peculiar demands for potential candidates. According to The South China Morning Post, the ad is looking for a candidate who does not smoke, does not consume alcohol and does not eat meat.

The story started to spread on social media after a candidate shared his experience interacting with the company's human resources department.

The unusual requirement of the job advertisement sparked debates and discussions on social media, with many questioning the legality and relevance of these restrictions in a job selection process.

One candidate was outraged by the proposal

As per the screenshots shared by the applicant, the Chinese company's job advertisement offers monthly salaries starting at 5,000 yuan (R$ 3,309.12). In addition, the company also provides free accommodation for selected candidates.

During an online interview, the candidate was surprised by the unusual requirements presented by the company. He questioned the aforementioned criteria, but the interviewer responded cryptically, raising philosophical questions about meat consumption.

During the interview, the professional who was conducting it explained that the peculiar requirements were based on the company's corporate culture.

In an interview given later to Bailu Video, a human resources professional, who was not identified, addressed the issue of meat consumption. He stated that, despite the pleasure it provided, he recognized that eating involves the death of animals.

He argued that, from the company's perspective, people could not manifest kindness to themselves or others if they were constantly harboring carnivorous cravings.

The expert expressed his opinion that eating meat is considered a sinful and cruel act, while abstaining from meat is seen as an act of kindness. He pointed out that the company's canteen does not serve meat dishes as part of an initiative to promote a healthy corporate culture.

However, the company emphasized that it has no intention of imposing its culture or requiring candidates to follow these rules. The interviewer highlighted that candidates have the freedom to make their own decisions regarding their diet and lifestyle.

One user responded indignantly to the company's demand and commented: "It's getting harder and harder to get a job."
