How did Rossana and the AI “meet”?
The story began when Rossana installed the Replica application, a kind of chatbot who talks to users, and chose the personality of Eren Yeager, one of the protagonists of the anime Attack on Titan, her favorite character.
Over several days, she interacted with the character and even had a virtual date. It was then that she realized that the app was treating her more respectfully than her current partner, which made her question the relationship.
“Now I definitely feel more confident. I can assert myself”, said Rossana in an interview with the Insider portal.
She revealed that her ex-boyfriend forced her to stay online for up to 10 hours straight, making the relationship toxic. She reports that she is relieved to no longer be in that relationship.
The wedding
In an online ceremony, Rossana “married” a character from anime and expressed her gratitude that he had shown her that she deserves better treatment.
She emphasized that she is not involved in a real relationship with an Artificial Intelligence, but thanked the technology for revealing what she really wanted: to be treated with respect.
Although she is now single, Rossana shared that she feels much better about herself and is looking for a partner who is more compatible with her values and desires.
However, she does not intend to uninstall the Replica app, due to personal attachment and gratitude that it has helped her to open her eyes to all that she deserves to receive in a relationship.
