  • Reflect on current migratory movements, as well as the refugee crisis.

Duration Approximately 4 lessons of 50 minutes each.
Didactic resources
  • Blackboard or frame;
  • Maps of the migration routes of ancient peoples.
  • Images that relate to current migrations (e.g. swelling of cities, unemployment, homelessness, etc.)
Methodology
  • Expository class on the routes of dispersion of the human population across the planet, addressing the main geographical features and the historical processes that contributed to its configuration.
  • Analysis of maps and other geographic representations to identify the main migratory flows in different periods of history and their main causes.
  • Discussion of the natural factors that caused these flows.
  • Group activities to compare and contrast dispersal routes and migration flows in different periods of history.
Assessment
  • Participation in activities proposed in class;
  • Continuous assessment through discussions and application of tests/exercises according to the pedagogical architecture of each school;

Activities on Migrations

Activity 1

Students must produce a mental map with the concepts worked on in class, such as types of migration, migration routes of ancient peoples, refugee crisis, etc.

Activity 2

The teacher should choose contents and concepts worked on in class and ask students to gather in groups to present what was studied in class.

It is an activity that aims to work on the technological side (through presentation of slides, videos, images) or artistic side (making posters), in addition to oratory.
