Demographic Census 2022

The 2022 Demographic Census started to be carried out with delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The survey is carried out every ten years, that is, the survey should be carried out in 2020, since the last Census was in 2010, but the pandemic reality caused the study to be delayed.

In 2021, cuts in the country's budget caused further delays in the Census schedule.

The 2022 Demographic Census survey was carried out between the months of August 2022 and January 2023.

Thousands of census takers visited the homes of 5,570 Brazilian cities.
