Netflix announced on the last day 19 the documentary "Racionais: From the Streets of São Paulo to the World", which will be released on the streaming platform on the 16th of November. The film is directed by Juliana Vicente.
The production will present the emergence and popularization of the Racinais MC's, made up of Mano Brown, KL Jay, Ice Blue and Edi Rock. The group is considered the most influential in the national rap scene.
The documentary features unreleased scenes recorded over more than 30 years of career of the group of musicians.
On October 31, there will be a single screening of the production, before its debut on Netflix, during the 46th São Paulo International Film Festival, at the Cinemateca Brasileira.

Racionais MC's Album at the Unicamp Vestibular
The album titled "Sobrevivendo no Inferno" by Racionais MC's, from 1997, is part of list of mandatory works for Vestibular 2023 from the University of Campinas (unicamp). The record made history by reaching the mark of more than 1.5 million copies sold.
With its presence in the competition since 2020, Racionais MC's collection of songs became the first musical album to be part of the Unicamp list, which is one of the largest universities in the country.
After disclosing that the album would form part of the list of works, the disc became a printed publication. The literary production was produced by researcher Arthur Dantas Rocha and presents an overview of the social and political importance of Racionais MC's for the country.
"Sobrevivendo no Inferno" has 12 tracks and is in the 14th position of the 100 greatest albums of Brazilian music, ranking elaborated by Rolling Stone Brasil Magazine.
The album highlights aspects of the reality of black people in Brazilian society. Racism, violence in the periphery and social exclusion are themes addressed in the group's lyrics.
The list of mandatory works in a selection process for higher education courses is informed in advance to the candidates. The intention is to present the repertoire that the selection will require in the evaluation questions.
