Today, January 25th, is the 469th anniversary of São Paulo. Considered the most important city in Brazil, it is also the economic center and stage of events that impact the entire country.
A Sao Paulo City was founded in 1554 in the Pátio do Colégio. The site was built by the Jesuit mission, led by priests José de Anchieta and Manuel da Nóbrega, to catechize the indigenous populations that lived in the region.

São Paulo is the economic and financial center of Brazil. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the city is R$ 714.68 billion, equivalent to 10% of the Brazil's GDP.
A large part of the capital of São Paulo's income comes from the areas of commerce and services. According to the IBGE, both segments are responsible for more than 82% of the city's GDP. Business tourism and cultural tourism are also highlighted in economy of São Paulo.
Most multinational companies, banks and other national and international financial entities are located on Avenida Paulista, considered the main one in the country, with more than 2.8 km.

São Paulo concentrates people from other regions of the country, who moved to the place due to better living conditions. The municipality also has several immigrants.

Geography
The predominant climate of the city of São Paulo is humid subtropical, with relief formed by plains, hills and mountains. Integrates the Atlantic Forest biome.
Winters in São Paulo tend to be cold and dry, and summers are hot and rainy, with temperatures ranging from 16 ºC to 25 ºC, on average, and annual rainfall of 1,500 to 1,800 mm.
The Tietê and Pinheiros rivers are the two main watercourses that run through the city of São Paulo. Both had their course intensely modified by the urbanization process.
Another highlight of natural aspects of São Paulo is that the city's vegetation integrates the biome Atlantic forest.
