The Energy Modalities

Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transformed from one form to another - Principle of Energy Conservation

Solar Energy Capture and Conversion Boards

In nature we find energy in different forms. Sometimes when we talk about energy, the modality that comes first to our mind is electrical energy, due to its great use. In the great universe that surrounds us, there are different types of energy and examples of these are: mechanical, thermal, sound, electrical, wind, solar, luminous, nuclear, and so on.
But what is energy? A physical definition says: energy is the ability to do work that can be complemented by interpreting the transformations taking place in our universe.
Mechanical energy
Mechanical energy can be interpreted as the sum of the kinetic and potential energy that a given body has.
The kinetic energy of a body is associated with the movement it has; on the other hand, potential energy is associated with the position of a body in relation to a certain reference.
Thermal energy

All matter is made up of molecules and these, in turn, are made up of atoms. The degree of agitation that these molecules have in a given body is responsible for thermal energy.
Sound Energy
Sound propagates through waves due to vibrations imposed on the air or on a material medium in front of a device (vocal cords, speakers...).
Electricity
The potential difference between two points that allows the passage of electrical current is responsible for electrical energy.
wind energy
Winds are responsible for wind energy.
Solar energy
Due to nuclear reactions in the Sun, large amounts of energy are released, which is called solar energy.
light energy
It is the form of energy that is associated with electromagnetic radiation.
Nuclear energy
They are the energies coming from the atomic nucleus due to the fission and/or fusion processes.
