In a new attempt to create links and strengthen new socio-environmental projects, the Petrobras Socio-environmental Program reaches yet another edition for a new investment. A total of R$ 432 million from the state-owned company will be allocated to more than 50 projects. The public notice was launched with registrations until the month of April.
Together with the announcement, the president of Petrobras, Jean Paul Prates, spoke about the commitment of the state-owned company in reverting new investments to the population. According to Jean, the company should go hand in hand with the population's intention to develop new strategies for the environment. For the first phase, the South, Midwest, Northeast and North regions will be reached. It is estimated that 20 projects will be contracted for the R$ 162 million that will be invested in the indicated regions. So far, the second stage has not been released and it is expected that the Southeast region will also be reached.
The project has socio-educational perspectives, with cross-cutting themes through the main placements. The Petrobras Socioenvironmental Program is active in forests, oceans, in the sustainable economic sphere and in education, as provided for in the notice. The basis of the projects must follow the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
With the SDGs, the general objective is to combat social inequality and all the foundations present with the issue, highlight the significance of human rights, preserve and contribute to the environment and other themes.
