As it is receptive, intelligent and has an excellent ability to imitate human sounds, the search for THE. stowage it's pretty big. However, in many cases, the bird is acquired by the parallel market, a fact that provides for the management unsustainable, mistreatment of these animals and, not rarely, exploitation of labor human. Thanks to this illegal activity, and to the destruction of its habitat, the blue parrot is at risk of extinction in some regions of the country. In others, this species has become quite numerous, due to the flight of individuals from captivity.
