South American countries

There are 13 South American countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, France (French Guiana), Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela.

French Guiana is an overseas territory of France and not a country.

In this American subcontinent, the predominant language is Spanish, as Portuguese is only spoken in Brazil. Our country is the most populous, with approximately 200 million inhabitants.

Brazil is followed by Argentina, whose approximate number is 41 million inhabitants.

South America is bordered by the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

The countries facing the Atlantic Ocean are Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana.

In turn, the countries bordering the Pacific Ocean are Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia.

Bolivia and Paraguay are the only countries that do not have access to the sea.
