Examples of Non-Literary Text
Text 1:
History - Drought, a secular phenomenon in the lives of Northeasterners
The history of droughts in the Northeast region is a test by fire for anyone who reads or listens to reports that date back to the 16th century.
The harsh consequences of the lack of water accentuated a picture that at various times in the biography of the semi-arid region becomes frightening: unbridled migration, epidemics, hunger, thirst, poverty.
The reports of researchers and historians date from the time of Portuguese colonization in the region.
Until the first half of the 17th century, who occupied the most interior areas of the Brazilian semiarid region was the indigenous population. One of the first known droughts took place between 1580 and 1583.

Text 2:
The 1964 coup and the establishment of the military regime
In the early hours of March 31, 1964, a military coup was launched against the legally constituted government of João Goulart.
The lack of reaction from the government and the groups that supported it was notable. The loyalist military could not be articulated.
A general strike proposed by the General Command of Workers (CGT) in support of the government also failed. (CPDOC - FVG - The 1964 Coup)

Text 1:
White Wing (Luiz Gonzaga and Humberto Teixeira - 1947)
When I looked at the earth on fire
which bonfire of St. John
I asked, oh
my god oh
why so big
Judiation
what a brazier,
what a furnace,
No planting feet
for lack of water
I lost my cattle
died of thirst
my sorrel
even the white wing
beat wings of the sertão
So I said:
Goodbye, Rozinha
keep with you
My heart
And today many leagues away
in sad loneliness
I wait for the rain
fall again
for me to come back
to my backlands
When the green of your eyes
Spread out in the plantation
I assure you
don't cry, see
That I'll be back, see
My heart
I assure you
I assure you
My heart
I assure you
I'll be back
to my backlands
Text 2:
My Dear Friend (Chico Buarque - 1976)
my dear friend forgive me please
If I don't pay you a visit
But as a carrier has now appeared
I send news on this tape
Here on earth they are playing football
There's a lot of samba, a lot of choro and rock'n'roll
Some days it rains, other days the sun shines
But what I want is to tell you that the thing here is black
