Without a doubt, the little word “textuality” caught your attention, didn't it? Yea, textuality... Such a word seems to give us a notion related to "text", that as much as it (the text) is considered a minimum unit of meaning, the message portrayed in it must be always clear, objective and precise.Well then, for a text to consist of textuality, he, necessarily, must have all the elements that participate in this aspect, otherwise it will be just a tangle of disconnected and meaningless words.
Based on this principle, in addition to knowledge related to grammatical facts, given that it is the written modality of language, so that the textuality speak up, some elements are considered indispensable. So, we think it's good to let you know about these elements so that when you're writing, you remember them and, above all, put them into practice, yes?
The textuality is demarcated by the meeting of some elements, put into practice in writing
* Clarity – It seems that when we stick to such an element, the name itself tells us everything, given that a text to be clear, coherent and cohesive, it is necessary that the ideas are well arranged, ordered among themselves and, above all, concise. Therefore, avoid beating around the bush in what you intend to say, be objective and get straight to the point;
* Expressiveness – This concept maintains a close relationship with the way in which the issuer chooses to deliver a certain idea, so the choice of words, which has everything to do with your linguistic knowledge, is essentially important. Hence the need to always use the active voice instead of the passive one; be extremely careful in choosing adjectives and adverbs, as well as opting for the use of concrete nouns over abstract ones;
* Direct order – The direct order refers to that placement that the issuer chooses to use the subject + predicate + complement (if any), given that through in that order, the message becomes clearer and more precise, for example: The girl arrived smiling (direct order = subject + predicate + complement). Otherwise, the message would not present itself so clearly, as we can see in: smiling the girl arrived.
* simplicity - Regarding this element, it is equivalent to affirming that being simple is not making use of typical orality statements, showing oneself simple, on the contrary, is choosing the adequate words to compose the speech, in order to convey the message to the interlocutor in the best possible way, bearing in mind the need for clarity and precision.
* Originality - It has to be original is to be simple, that is, to say what is intended directly, without needing resorting to the use of far-fetched, difficult words, only with the intention of making our speech better elaborate. No, we don't need to resort to such a procedure, because we can pass what we want in a much more precise and simple way, why not?
* Lastly, the choice of words, because it is through these same words that we will achieve our real goals with the message we produce. Therefore, no use of clichés, fads, commonplaces, in short, worn shapes that will in no way contribute to the quality, to the aesthetics of our discourse.
So, know that these placements are just an aid in making you position yourself in the best possible way at this very important moment, which is the writing, but we are sure that, being aware of them, will do much more for your speech to achieve the purposes for which you are ready to write about a certain subject matter.
