When we talk about agreement... something comes to mind “saying” that it is two or more elements, in which one agrees with the other, isn't it true?
Well, the agreement discussed here concerns some common expressions, which is why you need to know them well, so as not to run the risk of making mistakes in certain communication circumstances, especially when it comes to language writing. Thus, it is worth recalling a text in which similar cases are found. Then go to "Studying the agreement of some words”.
After remembering these aspects, you will understand how other expressions, expressed below, are in agreement:
The agreement of some expressions is related to grammatical matters
IT'S NEEDED / IT IS NECESSARY / IT'S GOOD / IT'S FORBIDDEN
Know that these expressions are related to two cases. Let's meet them?
* Faced with a subject without any element that determines it (in this case, the presence of the article), all of them remain invariable, that is, they remain in the masculine. Let's see some examples:
É requiredeffort to get good grades.
If we ask the question to the verb, we will discover the subject, that is:
What is necessary?
Effort to get good grades. We notice that the word “effort” does not appear accompanied by any determinant, is it not?
É prohibitedEntrance of strange people.
The same happens, because the word “input” stands alone.
É necessarypatience to cross the street.
Did you notice the same thing?
Now, let's look at these others:
* When the subject is accompanied by a term that determines it – in this case, the article –, there will be inflection of these expressions, that is, they will agree with the subject in gender (male/female) and number (singular plural). Take a look at some examples:
É prohibited The Entrance of strange people.
É Good The participation of all students.
