In order or in order? Answering doubts: In order or in order?

Spelling is concerned with the correct spelling of words, so the rules were created to help the speaker at the time of writing. There are words that cause doubts due to the similarity between the phonemes, for example: x/ch, s/z, g/j. At other times, the doubts are related to the cultured use of certain words (forms of pronunciation), but there are those that, although they have different meanings, are so similar in pronunciation and spelling that their use remains confused. This is the case with the expressions:the end and the end.

In order to understand when to use the affine and affine expressions, it is necessary to investigate the grammatical class of each one of them, as this is decisive in its meaning. See the examples:

1. It is necessary to study in order to succeed.

2. Friend, I really want to eat!

3. They are related matters.

4. Spanish is a related language with Portuguese.

In the first example, the relationship that the expression maintains with the prayer is one of finality, you see? What is the purpose of the study? Achieve success. On the other hand, example two represents the use of the end expression in colloquial language (spoken in everyday life) and conveys the idea of being willing, desiring.

In examples three and four, the expression affine represents an adjective and establishes the idea of equality, similarity, affinity or connection. The subjects have something in common, they are interconnected. Between the Spanish and Portuguese languages there are similarities or even a connection.

synthesizing:To (prepositional phrase) - indicates purpose.

To (adjective) – indicates affinity.
