Surely you've heard someone say they're tired and stressed out, right? But you know what the stress and how can it be harmful to health?
O stress normallyis defined as a set of reactions in the body in response to some factor that is triggering the body's imbalance. Divorcing, having a child, the death of a relative, or starting a new job or school can all be factors that cause this problem.
At causes of stress can be classified into two groups: internal and external. Internal causes are those linked to the personal characteristics of each individual. The need for recognition at work, for example, can be stressful. External causes, on the other hand, are caused by changes, such as the separation or death of a loved one.
It is noteworthy that stress is very relative and what causes problems in one person's body may not harm others. There are people who know how to deal with death better than others, for example. Therefore, the potential of each factor is different for each person.
When a person is stressed, several changes take place in their body that indicate the problem. Among the signs of stress, we can mention:
→ Anxiety;
→ Difficulty sleeping or excessive sleep;
→ Constant feeling of tiredness;
→ Fear;
→ Tension in muscles;
→ Difficulty concentrating;
→ Memory problems;
→ Mood changes;
→ Decrease in productivity;
→ Depression.
Being calm is important to avoid stress
When you notice the persistence of some of these symptoms, you need to be alert. Some simple measures can help reduce stress, such as physical activity, sleeping properly and having more pleasant moments alone or with the family.
Unfortunately, it is often not possible to manage stress alone, so it is necessary to seek professional help. In these cases, it is essential to consult a psychologist to seek solutions to face the problem. If left untreated, stress can trigger serious problems such as high blood pressure, strokes, migraines and even heart attacks.
We must face life with energy and good humor, because that's the only way we will have a healthy body and mind!
Attention: Do not use medication to treat stress without medical advice!
