Today you woke up with #vontadedeaprender? Learning on the internet can be really cool, isn't it? In addition to being a means of communication which provides information in a dynamic and intelligent way, the internet can also be a meeting point for real and virtual friends. The increasingly frequent use of web brought important changes to the reading and writing processes. With this, new symbols were incorporated into our daily lives, including the hashtag.
You know what it is hashtag? Here in Brazil it is also known as “Jogo da Velha” or “Curke”, its name varies from region to region, but on the internet the foreignism (the word hashtag is of English origin) gained the adhesion of users. You may not even know exactly what the function of hashtag, but you must have already found the symbol in your friends' posts on social networks and even used it at some point, right? In computing, the symbol is used to incorporate a comment into an internet discussion group. just add the # to the message that it will appear in the topic of most commented subjects of the day. When you click on
#message, she immediately transforms into a hyperlink, which will redirect you to a page where comments from other users of the network are available.
THE hashtag is a very popular symbol among users of social networks, including Twitter and Facebook
But what the #hashtag does it have to do with the Portuguese language? Everything, especially when you distribute it throughout a text or comment. Do you agree that writing #like this #dificultaoentendimento #deumtexto, #noteven? There are people who got into the fashion of hashtags and abandoned the punctuation and accent marks of the Portuguese language! The sign has been used to generate a mood effect, but unnecessarily, since your #partiueschool hardly will make the most talked about topics of the day, unless you have a million friends interested in your routine, right?
The internet has brought new things that have changed the way we speak and write, and many people have preferred “internetes” to the standard modality, especially in written texts. This behavior demonstrates a difficulty in understanding that, despite the linguistic variations, we must be aware of the principle of adequacy, that is, we cannot write an essay for the school in the same way we write in the virtual chat. Use hashtags too much can impair the understanding of a message, and what is the function of writing if not to communicate? If there are obstacles to understanding the message, communication will certainly be impaired. So stay tuned, because when the #hashtag walks through the door, punctuation, accent marks and comprehension slip out the window!
