You and your identity

When we are born, our parents make a record of our birth, in a registry office, informing the government that they had a child. In the registry our data is registered, such as the city where we were born, the time, the names of our parents and grandparents. When making this registration, a document called Birth certificate, containing all this data, our first document.

The maternity hospital in which we were born also issues a document, the Child Card, which also comes with some data from our birth, such as time, weight, gender, ethnicity, first tests, telling us if we are okay or not. This card must accompany our growth, as it records all the vaccines we take and those we will take, as well as other data on our development.

Documents are important as they serve to identify people.

Another document that we must have, the most important of all, is the ID card. It records our name, date of birth, the names of our parents, the city and state in which we were born.

The identity card is also known as RG, which means general registration.

. It also contains a different identification number for each person, in order to make it easier for them to be found. We can take the ID even as children, but when we turn 18 this document must be changed, so that your handwriting can be registered as an adult.

The important thing is to be the way you like it

Our identity is not only made through the documents that carry our information, but the way each person perceives himself, sees himself in front of the world.

Identity is built throughout our life, based on the things and experiences we go through, that is, through our social relationships. It is thinking about yourself, judging yourself based on the values you live in as good or bad, better or worse, the same or different, etc. Through these relationships, we form our concepts of the world, as well as creating preferences for our lives.

In addition to the physical characteristics, little by little each person is shaping their way of being, with their tastes and desires. You can develop your identity as you make choices, such as the clothes you wear, the color you prefer, the foods you like best, friends, etc.

However, it is important that we learn to live with the differences as well as respect them, because each person you have your way of being (physical or emotional) and you have the right to make different choices for your life.
