How to write a paragraph?

You may already know that, in addition to good ideas, a good text needs to be well structured, right? When a newsroom is well constructed, the chances of the reader better understanding what is being said are much greater. One thing depends on the other, as it's no use having good arguments if your text is structurally messed up.

Among the items that make up the structure of the text is the paragraph. This is a tricky subject, as many people don't know how to write a paragraph properly, just as they don't know when it's time to finish it. With that in mind, Escola Kids offers five very simple writing tips that will help you put your ideas on paper in the best way possible. Come on?

Writing tips: How to write a paragraph?

=) Tip 1: This tip is perhaps the most important: each paragraph should have only one core idea. But what is a core idea? It is the most important idea in the paragraph, as other ideas will be developed from it; these ideas we call secondary ideas. Remember that secondary ideas must establish a subordinate relationship with the idea. main and, if one of them has more strength and needs to be better developed, it's time to change paragraph;

=) Tip 2: Every paragraph must contain a phrasal topic, which is nothing more than the sentence that summarizes the entire content of the core idea. It is a categorical statement, so it must be objective and concise, consisting of at most three sentences. If the topic is long, it is a sign that you should redo it;

=) Tip 3: Don't know what the ideal paragraph size is? Rest assured, because there is no rule that determines the exact size of the paragraph. Of course, you shouldn't write a huge paragraph, as this would leave your text poorly structured and confusing. Try writing three sentences for each one, that's a pretty good number. But be careful: don't let your text get plastered, that is, don't let the paragraphs stay the same;

Don't forget that there must be only one core idea for each paragraph. Also pay attention to the phrasal topic

=) Tip 4: Did you know that a paragraph also has a default structure? It must be formed by three elementary parts: the core idea, the secondary ideas and the conclusion (where the core idea is reaffirmed). This structure must be respected mainly in texts of the essay-argumentative type, bearing in mind that, in short paragraphs, there is usually no conclusion;

=) Tip 5: Reread your text when you've finished writing it, so you can find possible flaws in the paragraph. This final exercise is great for helping to spot problems related to coherence and cohesion, flaws that compromise the overall understanding of a text. If you notice that in the same paragraph there are several core ideas, don't be lazy to restructure your writing and allow the reader to make the most of the information you intend to transmit.
