Letter based on arguments

Previous studies allowed us to know the characteristics related to the letter, which also represents a textual genre. There are different types of letters, that is, there is one in which we communicate with friends or family in order to tell them the news, as well as the one that we write for a certain newspaper or magazine, praising or positively criticizing any article, and also the one we are going to. learn now, whose objective is to expose a specific problem and bring it to the attention of someone who has sufficient conditions and authority to solve it.
We are talking about the so-called argumentative letter which, as it belongs to written language, is made up of some specific rules. One of its main features is argumentation, but after all, what is this?
When we are arguing, we automatically try to convince the interlocutor (the person who listens to us or who shares with what we've written) of our opinion, in order to make him agree with us.
There is another very important detail to say - the fact that this modality (the letter) is very much required in competitions that we do, as well as when we take the exams related to the entrance exam, the National High School Exam, among others.

Therefore, you realized the reason for the difference between the others, didn't you? But so that we can get to know it better, we will look at an example below. Imagine that near your house there is an intersection without signage and that you are wanting to request a traffic light, in an attempt to prevent accidents from occurring. For this, you must write a letter addressed to the mayor of your city in order to formalize the request. So here we go!

Belo Horizonte, February 10, 2010.
(place and date)

Most Illustrious Mr. Mayor
(Note that we are not addressing just anyone, but the mayor of the city, so we must use the proper treatment pronoun – Most Illustrious). This space is intended for the vocative.

On the way to the school, we notice that at the intersection of Rua (xxxxx) and (xxxxx) there are numerous accidents, as there is a lack of traffic lights, in order to better guide drivers and provide more safety to pedestrians.
Therefore, as security is essential to everyone's life, I would like to request the implementation of a traffic light at the site, as I know that the entire population will be grateful.
Sure to count on your understanding, I thank you in advance.

(signature of the person who sent the letter)

Certainly, after analyzing this example, we find that the argumentative letter is one that presents a request and/or complaint on a particular matter, based on satisfactory arguments for the purpose to be materialized.
