When we look in the mirror, we are not always happy with what we see, is it? Sometimes we feel a few extra pounds and we start to take eating attitudes that put our health at risk.
THE anorexia and bulimia are two very common problems, especially in women looking for the perfect body and trying to follow the standards of fashion magazines. These two eating disorders are serious and responsible for deaths every year. For this reason, in these cases, a rigorous medical and psychological follow-up is necessary.
THE bulimia is an eating disorder that mainly causes moments of high food intake and times when the The patient tries to compensate for this impulsive act, generally forcing vomiting or using laxatives and diuretics.
It is noteworthy, however, that the bulimic patient does not always lose weight, as part of the ingested food is absorbed. However, by forcing vomiting and the elimination of feces and liquids, the patient triggers a process of dehydration and loss of salts. Over time, the loss of nutrients leads to osteoporosis, hair loss, dry nails, abdominal pain and several other problems that can lead to death.
At anorexia, in turn, the patient does not force the elimination of the ingested food. Believing that they are overweight, even if they are not, and because of the fear of gaining a few more grams, the patient starts diets so restricted that they can lead to malnutrition.
In anorexic patients, there is a clear weight loss, which, as already highlighted, may not be observed in bulimics. In addition to weight loss, people with anorexia begin to experience hair loss, heart problems, weakened nails and even bone problems and depression. In women, menstrual cycles become irregular and infertility can occur. As with bulimia, anorexia can trigger great weakness and malnutrition, which in turn can lead to death.
The anorexic person firmly believes that he is fat, even though he is not overweight
Usually people with bulimia feel ashamed that they are experiencing this problem. Anorexics, for the most part, believe that they are not suffering from any disorder and that every fight is worth losing weight. Thus, we can see, in both cases, that the treatment may not occur voluntarily and support from friends and family is essential at this time.
It is worth noting that, in order to lose weight and achieve a suitable body, it is essential to exercise and a healthy eating. Restrictive diets should not be carried out, mainly because they trigger health problems, generating malaise, blood pressure changes, hormonal changes, in addition to insomnia, headaches and other problems bass.
ATTENTION:If you realize that you are suffering from some of the eating disorders mentioned in this text, do not be ashamed and seek your doctor immediately. These diseases can lead to death and need special care.
