P.S. is the Latin acronym for post scriptum and what does it mean "written after", in the translation into Portuguese. Usually, this acronym is used at the end of some cards, in order to add information that has been forgotten to be mentioned in the body of the text.
O post scriptum it is used in situations when a letter is already fully written, addressed and signed, but its author remembers important information that should be contained in the text. In order not to have to write everything down again, the missing information can be placed at the end of the letter, starting from the initials P.S.
Other equivalent terms in Portuguese are “Em tempo” or “Obs.”.
Also exists P.S. I Love You, a title known for being an American film produced in 2007, based on the eponymous book by Irish writer Cecelia Ahern.
PS can also mean the German acronym for power (pferdestärke). PS can be Premium Service, a specialized service offered by the airline United Airlines. In the health area, PS is also the acronym for “Emergency Aid”.
