PVC is the English acronym for "Polyvinyl chloride” which in Portuguese means polyvinyl chloride (or polyvinyl chloride), a plastic also known as vinyl.
PVC is made from a combination of ethylene and chlorine. It is a product classified as versatile due to the possibility of adding certain additives (plasticizers, stabilizers, lubricants, pigments, foaming etc.) which are incorporated before transformation into the final product. The choice of non-toxic additives allows the manufacture of toys and products from the pharmaceutical industry, such as serology hoses, blood bags, etc.
PVC is widely applied in civil construction sectors (pipes, connections, wires, etc.), packaging materials (protective films for food, jars for various uses, mineral water bottles, hygiene and cleaning materials, etc.), as well as in the industry of shoes.
