The Decola Beta Scientific Initiation Program, carried out by the Beta Scientist organization, has a campaign of crowdfunding, the so-called virtual kitty, to raise money to support 48 low-income students.
Join the Kitty
In its third edition, Decola Beta selected 109 students for scientific initiation, 48 from low income, who cannot afford maintenance costs (rate of R$ 300 for six months). The Beta Scientist organization charges a symbolic fee for the development of projects and the feasibility of monitoring, since the organization does not receive government financial support.
Do not stop now... There's more after the advertising ;)
The program
Decola Beta was created by Kawoana Vianna, then a medical student, to encourage teenagers and young people to enter science.
The program works with students from across the country, virtually. Participants present ideas for solving problems, such as the Brazilians awarded at the Google Science Fair.

Decola Beta has a voluntary mentoring system, in which undergraduate, master's and doctoral students are virtual mentors of selected students.
