World Wide Web in Portuguese means worldwide network, also known as Web or WWW. World Wide Web is a system of hypermedia documents that are interconnected and executed on the Internet.
World wide web documents can be in the form of videos, sounds, hypertexts and pictures, and to view the information, a computer program called a browser is used to download this information, and display it on the screen of user. The user can then follow the links on the page to other documents or even send information back to the server.
The world wide web emerged in 1989 as an information integrator, within which the vast majority of information available on the Internet could be accessed more simply and consistently in different platforms. The standard form of WWW information is hypertext, which allows the interconnection between different documents, possibly located on different servers, in different parts of the world.
Hypertext is encoded with the HTML language, which has a set of encoding tags that are interpreted by WWW clients on different platforms. The protocol used for transferring information on the WWW is http, which is a protocol at the level of application that has objectivity to support distributed, cooperative and hypermedia.
