Harassment consists of a persistent and inconvenient harassment that targets a specific person or group, affecting their peace, dignity and freedom.
There are different types of harassment, such as moral, sexual, psychological, virtual, judicial, among others. However, all are based on the principle of stalking and forcing someone to do something against their will.
Harassment aims to cause discomfort to the harassed person, who can develop serious trauma as a result of this type of violence.

bullying
It consists of a type of violence against a person's dignity, which is often humiliated.
O bullying at work it is characterized when the employee is exposed to constant vexatious and humiliating situations by other employees or their employers.
There is no specific law to categorize moral harassment in Brazilian law, which is currently framed as a crime of moral damages.

Sexual harassment
It is a type of violence that is characterized by the insistence of a certain person to insinuate himself sexually to another, causing discomfort in the latter.
Sexual harassment usually happens in work environments, when the employee is sometimes threatened, blackmailed or even victim of sexual advances (verbal or physical) without their consent.
Decree-Law No. 10.224, of May 15, 2001, adds Article No. 216-A to the Brazilian Penal Code, presenting the following text:
"Embarrass someone in order to obtain sexual advantage or favour, with the agent of his condition of hierarchical superior or ancestry inherent to the exercise of employment, position or function."
The penalty for violating this law is detention which can vary between 1 and 2 years.
