The vesting period of vacation represents the condition for the employee to be entitled to enjoy the their thirty days of annual vacation, according to the CLT (Consolidation of the Laws of the Work). That is, it consists of the first
twelve calendar months completed working at the company. Thus, every twelve months the employee receives the right to thirty days of vacation, which, in turn, must be taken during the concession period. The concession period of vacation corresponds to the twelve months after the end of the vesting period. During this period of time the employee must take their vacation days, otherwise the company is obliged to pay double the professional's vacation.
For example, if an employee starts working at a certain company on January 1, 2017, the vesting period will end on January 1, 2018. From this date onwards, the concession period begins, that is, the professional has until January 1, 2019 to enjoy his/her thirty days of vacation.
