hail is a ice rain, which occurs when precipitation falls from the sky in the form of pieces of ice, which are usually between 0.5 cm and 5 cm in diameter.
Rare people die during a hailstorm, but if the ice chips are large, can cause serious damage and material damage, in addition to being a threat to animals and crops. In case of hailstorm, it is advisable to look for a covered place and protect yourself from the ice rocks.
How does hail form?
Hail is only formed from a specific cloud type called cumolonimbus, which has the characteristic of having a great vertical development and is formed mainly in the highest tropical areas of the planet.
Hail tends to form in storms with intense, updrafts, in clouds cumolonimbus with great vertical extension (low temperatures) and liquid water concentration. Thus, at high altitude the water particles freeze and when they reach a certain weight, greater than that supported by air currents, the precipitation of ice "stones" begins.

hail or granite
Both terms exist in the Portuguese language, but have totally different meanings.
Hail, as said, consists of a type of precipitation that occurs in clouds cumolonimbus, causing the rain to be formed by ice cubes.
Granite, on the other hand, is a rock type originated from magma cooling (igneous rock), being formed by several minerals (mica, quartz and feldspar).
Granite stone is often used for the production of furniture pieces, such as kitchen or bathroom countertops, for example.
