Definition of Hybrid (What it is, Concept and Definition)

Hybrid because it is used to designate a type of animal or vegetable, a service type, or a vehicle engine type.

Hybrid animal or plant are those bred by two distinct species but belonging to the same genus. It is the result of crossing between two different species, or between two pure strains of the same species. An example of a hybrid animal is the crossing of a mare with a donkey, which results in a donkey or mule, with sterility as its main characteristic.

According to biology, the further away the parents are genetically, the more likely the resulting hybrid is to be sterile. Sterility occurs when chromosome mismatch occurs during meiosis.

There is also the hybrid agent, which is a technical term related to call center (hybrid service), what happens in the telemarketing. These are usually operators who receive the call and have the option of trying to retrieve the call through dialing the number obtained by the bin (the device that identifies the telephone number that made the call).

hybrid car

A hybrid car is a car that has an internal combustion engine, usually gasoline, and a electric motor that reduces the effort of the combustion engine and thus reduces consumption and emissions. A hybrid car is one that combines a combustion engine and an electric motor, for example.

Typically, the hybrid car pollutes less than cars with a combustion engine alone, but its costs are high compared to the difference in emission of pollutants. The world's first series-produced hybrid car was the Toyota Prius.
