Power plant it `s a big industrial establishment equipped with machines, where raw or semi-finished materials are transformed into final products such as ethanol, alcohol, sugar, steel etc.

The energy generating plant, also called power station or generating station, is a set of works and equipment destined to the generation of electric energy. This energy is generated by transforming the various energy sources found in nature.

The plants that employ renewable energy sources are: the hydroelectric plant (river water), solar plant (solar rays), wind power plant (winds), biomass plant (charcoal, sugarcane bagasse, vegetable peels, babassu coconut, castor beans, etc.) and the mill tides.

The plants that make use of non-renewable energy sources are: the thermoelectric plant (fossil fuels: mineral coal, oil, shale, natural gas) and the nuclear plant (uranium and thorium).

Nuclear plant

The nuclear power plant is an industrial facility designed to produce electricity. Nuclear energy has as its main source the radioactive mineral uranium, which is a non-renewable mineral found in nature.

The working principle of a nuclear power plant is similar to that of a conventional thermoelectric power plant. Both use heat (the term) to generate electricity. In thermoelectric plants, the heat comes from burning fuels. In nuclear power plants, heat is the result of nuclear fission of uranium atoms.

Nuclear fission is the splitting of the nucleus of an atom into two smaller atoms, releasing a large amount of energy. To generate the same amount of energy produced by 1 kg of uranium, about seven tons of coal are needed.

The nuclear plant, in addition to absorbing high costs for its installation, represents a very serious problem with nuclear accidents, with nuclear waste (garbage), which take millennia to degrade. Another disadvantage of nuclear energy is the contamination of the environment, which can cause irreversible damage to health, such as cancer, leukemia, genetic deformities, etc.

wind energy

THE wind energy is the energy produced by the force of the winds, a natural, clean and renewable source, available everywhere in the world.

Wind energy is produced through an aero generator, fueled by the force of the winds, captured by propellers, connected to a turbine, which drives an electric generator.

A wind power plant is formed by several towers with large propellers installed on its top, located in privileged locations for strong winds.
