Meaning of Consonance (What it is, Concept and Definition)

Consonance is the same as agreement, agreement and harmony between two or more parties.

Originally, this term is used to represent the harmonious set of sounds, which are pleasing to the human ear. However, it is often widely used from its figurative sense to indicate conformity and understanding between different sides.

Example: "The leader's ideas are not in line with the wishes of the people" or "He acted in line with his values".

Still from its original meaning, consonance can also mean the effect or action of sounding simultaneously, producing similar and repetitive sounds, such as verses and rhymes, for example.

Etymologically, the word consonance originated from the Latin consonant, which means "joint production of sounds".

consonance and dissonance

Consonance, as seen, is the set of harmonious sounds. It is characterized by the agreement between the different sound tones, forming a melody that is pleasant to listen to.

Dissonance, on the other hand, consists of collection of sounds that are unpleasant and inharmonious to the ear. In music, dissonance presents itself as unstable sounds that need to be adjusted so that there is a consonance.
