Usually, the gigolo is directly related to the prostitution, but the word is also used in a pejorative way to define a man who survives at the expense of others, in a kind of exploitation.
A gigolo can provide sexual services to men, women or couples in exchange for financial help or something of value.
In the seventh art, the gigolo appears as a character almost always exploited with comedicity, as happens in the movies "European gigolo" or "Gigolo by Accident".
You gigolos and the pimps they are often confused as being synonymous, however there is a big difference between the meanings of the two words. While gigolos are men supported by another individual in exchange for material goods, the pimp is known for controlling and "managing" the work of "program girls", also known as whores.
