Meaning of Awareness (What it is, Concept and Definition)

Awareness is the act of becoming aware, that is, inform someone or receive information about a certain subject, for example.

Awareness consists of acknowledgment of something, and from then on, habits and attitudes can be changed so that they can adjust to the new known reality.

For example, campaigns for traffic awareness they aim to convey information to drivers about the precautions they should take on the roads and the consequences that their reckless acts may entail.

In psychology, awareness represents the search for knowledge that was previously blocked or covered up.

Among some of the main synonyms of awareness they are: information, perception, reach, understanding, insight, preview and mentalization.

It is the development of people's critical sense about the impact they have on the environment from the unrestrained consumption of natural resources.

With environmental awareness, individuals become aware of the consequences that pollution generates for life on Earth. Thus, they are thinking of alternative measures to exploit nature's resources in a sustainable way, in addition to avoiding waste and other attitudes that contribute to increased pollution.
