Meaning of Tuning (What it is, Concept and Definition)

Tuning is a term relating to condition of agreement, balance and reciprocity between two parties, according to the figurative sense of the word.

In electronics, the definition of tuning consists in the circumstance of equality of frequencies between two systems, which emanate the same electrical oscillations.

When a person says he needs to "tune the radio", it means that the receiving device (radio) needs emit the same frequency wave as the transmitter (radio station) in order to capture its radio signals and play it.

Regarding the figurative sense of tuning, when it says that there is "tune between two people”, means that both are in a state of mutual agreement, that is, in understanding and harmony, both in the emotional sphere, in thoughts, activities and so on.

The so-called "emotional tuning", for example, can be considered a decisive factor in the construction and consolidation of human relationships, as it creates an affinity between the two people, due to the equalization of their goals or ideals.

Etymologically, the word tune originated from the Greek sumtonias, term that was related to the tension exerted between the body, organs and spirit.
