Freedom and debauchery are two concepts related and that many people confuse. Both are central to the human decision-making process, and reveal different attitudes from individuals.

Freedom consists of the right to move freely, to behave according to one's own will, assuming that this behavior does not negatively influence another person. According to philosophy, freedom is the independence, autonomy and spontaneity of the human being.

On the other hand, debauchery is the result of a misuse of freedom, because it demonstrates irresponsibility, which can harm not only the person, but other people as well. Those who act with debauchery reveal that they don't care about the consequences that their behavior may have. In many cases, debauchery is translated into an absence of rules. In this way, someone who drinks and then drives is an example of someone whose attitude shows debauchery, as he is putting his life and the lives of other people at risk.

The famous phrase "The freedom of each ends where the freedom of the other begins.", attributed by many people to the English philosopher Herbert Spencer, indicates that true freedom respects others, and their rights.

In the Bible, more specifically in 1 Corinthians 6:12, the apostle Paul states: "Everything is permitted to me, but not everything is suitable. Everything is allowed to me, but I will not let myself be dominated by anything." This passage reveals that we have the ability to do many things, but that not everything we can do is good, because our actions have consequences.

Debauchery, on the other hand, takes on an opposite mentality: "I can do whatever I want, no one has anything to do with it and no one can stop me." a rake is someone rebellious, self-centered, brutish, slave to all the desires that arise in his mind, and for this reason, debauchery is the main cause of barbarities. Debauchery enslaves and mutilates human beings, while the opposite - freedom - enables them to have a healthy coexistence with their neighbors.
