Jargon means a barely understandable language, in many cases for being specific to a particular professional or sociocultural group. The term has its origin in the French word "jargon".
The use of jargon causes a vicious and corrupted language, demonstrating little knowledge of a language or the intention that the conversation is not understood by those who do not belong to the circle.
Professional jargon represents a speech that is difficult to understand for those who are not part of the environment where it is spoken. This is the case of areas related to Law (legal jargon), Economics, Medicine, IT (Information Technology), among many others. The introduction of unknown words or words that belong to other languages make it difficult to understand. Military jargon, for example, are words used in the context of the Armed Forces.
Jargons full of difficult words can scare the interlocutor away and, therefore, should be avoided. In these cases the political, O economese, O legalese, among others with suffix "ês".
In some cases, jargon can be synonymous with slang, indicating some words that are used in informal language. Jargon can also be related to a sport, and football jargon, for example, is composed of words that are directly linked to the world of football.
