Meaning of Fusion (What it is, Concept and Definition)

Fusion is the effect or act of merging. In the field of thermal physics, this term refers to the process of transformation from solid to liquid state, from the action of heat.

In order for a substance to be transformed from solid to liquid, from the action of heat, it needs to reach its fusion point, that is, the ideal temperature that allows the change between physical states.

For example, the melting point of water pure (going from ice to liquid water) is 0º Celsius. However, each substance has a distinct melting point:

  • Gold = 1,064º Celsius
  • Iron = 1,538º Celsius
  • Oxygen = - 218.8º Celsius

In general, the merger can be understood as the union or mixture of two or more different things, causing them to be transformed into something unique.

Among some of the main synonyms of fusion they are: melting, liquefaction, melting, dissolution, absorption, blending, mixing, integrating, union, combining, aggregation, coalition, alliance and coalition.

The call political merger

consists of the union of two or more different parties with the aim of building a coalition, that is, an alliance that gives greater strength and stability to these groups during electoral processes, by example.

Within the scope of tax law, the company merger or partnerships is an operation that unites different companies to form a new one. In this case, all companies and individual companies are extinguished, making room for the legal personality of the one created.

Nuclear fusion

In nuclear physics, nuclear fusion represents the union of small atomic nuclei responsible for the formation of atoms with a larger, heavier and more stable nucleus.

Nuclear fusion is also capable of releasing large charges of energy. The Sun, for example, has as its energy source the nuclear fusions that take place in its interior, where hydrogen nuclei fuse to form helium nuclei.
