Meaning of Zica (What it is, Concept and Definition)

Zica is a slang meaning "something very bad", a confusion that has occurred, a problem or a misunderstanding. The expression has several other meanings, according to the region of Brazil where it is used.

Also as a Brazilian slang, zica can also be related to a curse, a moment of low mood, a bad omen or a bad omen. When a person is tricked or unlucky, it is said that he is a "swamp zica".

In some places, the word zica is also used to define the mood of a person who is cheerful, fun, and always in a good mood. The person who always demonstrates that he is “at peace with life” is also called "the ball zica" or "Zica da ballad".

Examples: "Only today, I had a fall, almost got run over, and I was late for work. How much zica in my day!" / "I would love to help my friend out of this zica…".

The etymology of this word is uncertain, however some people claim it is a contraction of the word "ziquizira".
