There is a wide variety of shoe sizes, according to the size of the person's foot. The number for each size usually changes by country or region.
To avoid confusion, the publication of the International Organization for Standardization "ISO/TS 19407/SC Footwear - Sizing-Conversion of International Sizing System" publishes the correct conversions between the various shoe size systems.
Shoe Size Charts
The most widely used shoe sizing systems are the European and UK English systems, which generally refer to the length of the effective area of the shoe.
The Brazilian system adopts a standard of two numbers less than the European system in all sizes and the traditional American system has an English-like system, with one more number than This one. It also adopts a different system for men, women and children.

How to measure the length of the feet?
To know which shoe number is proportional to the size of the foot, one must measure the length of the feet.
- Put a sheet of paper on the floor and tape it so it doesn't move.
- Place the foot on top of the sheet and with a pencil / pen draw the outline of the foot.
- Use a ruler to mark a line around the foot pattern on the paper.
- With the ruler, measure the length of the foot (in centimeters) from the top to its base.
- Also measure the width of the foot using the ruler.
- After getting the numbers (in centimeters) for the length and width of the foot, subtract 5mm (millimeters) from the value.
- Use the values obtained and compare with the table below to find out which shoe size you should buy.
Footwear numbering in centimeters
For women (sizes in Brazil):
- 34 = 22.5 cm long
- 35 = 23 cm
- 36 = 23.5 cm
- 37 = 24 cm
- 38 = 25 cm
- 39 = 26 cm
- 40 = 27 cm
- 41 = 27.5 cm
For men (sizes in Brazil):
- 35 = 23 cm long
- 36 = 23.5 cm
- 37 = 24.5 cm
- 38 = 25.5 cm
- 39 = 26 cm
- 40 = 27 cm
- 41 = 27.5 cm
- 42 = 28.5 cm
- 43 = 29.5 cm
- 44 = 30 cm
- 45 = 30.5 cm
- 46 = 31 cm
- 47 = 32 cm
- 48 = 33 cm
However, it is always important to try on the shoes, as the size can vary according to the brand, for example.
