Meaning of Outlaw (What it is, Concept and Definition)

outlaw is someone who is running away from a chase or hidden of a certain situation in a place or land different from yours, such as an emigrant or an expatriate.

Grammatically, the word outlaw can be used as an adjective or noun, depending on the context. The most common use of this term refers to the act of fleeing from some obligation or authority, such as the police.

Example: "The police are looking for the fugitive who robbed the jewelry store last night" or "The arrest warrant was decreed for the fugitives involved in the crime".

One outlaw from the police is an individual who is under felony charge and he is being pursued by police forces, that is, he is hiding for fear of suffering the legal consequences for his actions. All procedures relating to the treatment and punishment of outlaws are provided for in the Code of Criminal Procedure.

The decision to shelter or facilitate the hiding and escape of a fugitive, according to the Penal Code, is also considered a crime.

"Art. 348 - Assist in evading the action of a public authority author of a crime that is sentenced to imprisonment:

Penalty - detention, from one to six months, and fine.

§ 1 - If the crime is not punishable by imprisonment:

Penalty - detention, from fifteen days to three months, and fine.

§ 2 - If the person providing the assistance is an ascendant, descendant, spouse or brother of the criminal, he is exempt from penalty."
