Sum Importance is an expression of the Portuguese language that can also be interpreted as "essential importance" or "main importance".
The word “sum” corresponds to the idea of something that is the foundation or essence of a certain thing. When this precedes the term “importance”, it gives a reinforcement to its meaning.
Example: “It is very important that we attend today's debate.” or “Knowing who to vote for is of paramount importance to reduce corruption in the country”.
In the examples cited, the expression "very important" acts as a reinforcement of the idea that a certain action is carried out and/or valued as a key point for the other elements that make up the context.
The expression “very important” can be replaced by other terms without losing its meaning, for example: “essential”, “most important” or “very important”.
