Plausible is what is reasonable, possible to be done or acceptable.
It's also what deserves applause, approval.
In its etymology, the word plausible comes from the Latin word plausibility, which corresponds to what is worthy of applause, which in turn originates from plaudere, which is applauding.
In modern Portuguese, it also gained the connotation of what is acceptable, approved but without great distinction.
to say that someone had a plausible argument it means that the person had an adequate, credible answer. It does not mean that it was excellent, or above expectations, but considered reasonable.
It is also what is bearable. As when the symptoms of a certain pain are reported to the doctor, and he asks if it is a plausible pain, that is, if the patient can bear this pain, if it does not hinder him to do other things.
plausible in english is plausible or can still be understood as likely.
plausible or plausible
Plausible and plausible are correct and are synonymous in the sense of applause.
