Meaning of Neighbor (What it is, Concept and Definition)

Neighbor is the one or the one who is very close, next door.

The noun neighbor is most commonly associated with the resident in the same surroundings, whether in the house or apartment next door, or on the same street, building or condominium.

The phrase "my neighbor bothers with his loud music" means that the resident of the house next door, or in a place very close to the person's residence, usually listens to music at high volume. The fact is that the houses around them can also hear, which ends up disturbing the other residents.

As an adjective, neighbor is said to be that which is close, even if on another scale. As in "the planets Venus and Mars are Earth's neighbors in the Solar System".

It also occurs in the sense of analogous or similar. When speaking of two similar species of animals, for example, in informal language it is said that they "are neighbors".

Neighbor is a masculine word that corresponds to two grammatical classes, adjectives and nouns. In the female it is a neighbor.

The word neighbor, with an S, does not exist in the Portuguese language, and therefore its spelling is incorrect.

In English, neighbor is neighbor. In Spanish, the translation of neighbor is vecino.
