Serene drop (or serene drop) is a popular expression in the Northeast region of Brazil, whose meaning refers to one, impatience, nervousness or elation.
When it is said that someone is "with the serene drop" or "giving the serene drop", it means the same as being furious, angry, irritated and mad at something or someone.
In some cases, the expression is also used to indicate surprise or admiration, referring to something very good, or even when a certain event is incredible, grandiose and memorable.
The reduction of expression to simply "from gout" is quite frequent.
The sentences below are examples of the everyday use of the expression:
- "Today she has the serene gout."
- "It's a cute blob boy!"
- "That cachaça is from gout."
- "It was a serene gout party!"
There is a humorous phrase about the northeastern people that exemplifies the use of the expression: "Nordestino doesn't get angry, he gets the serene gout!".
Popularly, serene gout is also a way of referring to a type of blindness that leaves no damage to the eye, but causes total or partial loss of vision (amaurosis).
